The U.S.-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has stated that the first ten weeks of Israel’s war on Gaza are the deadliest war ever for journalists, with the largest number of journalists killed in a single year in one place.
Most of the journalists and media workers killed in the war are Palestinians, with 61 out of 68 journalists. The report stated that the commission was "specifically concerned about a clear pattern of targeting journalists and their families by the Israeli military."
